About

My research as a chemical biologist and biochemist currently centers about the identification of biomolecules that underlies chemical communication systems in aquatic animals. I take a ‘multi-omics’ approach, which integrates transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics techniques to study complex biochemical systems. I have keen interests on using mass spectrometry, multidimensional NMR and other synergistic techniques to maintain and develop new collaborations with external scientists from chemistry, biology and computation sectors to address emerging biological questions and meet the goals. My current role as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with University of the Sunshine Coast and Australian Institute of Marine Science mainly focuses on applying multi-omics approaches to control Crown-of-Thorns starfish (COTS) population around the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) regions. I am also working on other projects where we apply –omics to understand chemical communication system in snails, crustaceans and parasites.
